2014 Annual Fairmount Park Family Triathlon & Duathlon

Saturday, July 19, 2014, 7 AM
Memorial Hall, 4231 North Concourse Drive, Philadelphia, PA
Park in front of Memorial Hall (NO parking on Ave. of Republic)

Partnering together, TriYouthalon and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation are hosting this beautiful, early Saturday morning race for the 5th year with a wonderful addition, instead of strictly kids, we are including the whole family!!!

Train with your Parents, Grandparents, Aunts/Uncles, cousins... and then come and race together.

The race is a challenge for kids of all abilities, adults entering the triathlon sport, families racing together or kids/adults having fun racing on their own.

This is a great excuse to wake-up early and a good incentive to train with someone special!

How to Participate

  1. Register for the race by clicking on the Register button at the bottom of this page. (If you'd prefer mailing in your application, please print, complete and send back the race application with your fee.)
  2. Print and bring this waiver to the race to be completed on race day. (Racers may not race without a signed waiver. Racers under 18 are required to obtain a signature from a legal guardian/parent.)
  3. If you'd like to be a volunteer for the race, please email jonathan@triyouthalon.org.

*Please Note: Photographers/videographers will be present to take photos and video of our event. These pictures will be available for sale should you desire to purchase them. They will also be used on the website and potential marketing materials. No tasteless or demeaning photography will be used at any time by Triyouthalon or the professionals at the race.

Once you mount your bike on Lansdowne Drive (with your bike helmet snapped), the course is a 2 1/2 mile loop around the baseball fields, down the Ave. of the Republic, turning onto the riding path at Belmont (Police Officer closing the road) and return to the transition area via the Japanese Gardens. Our athletes 7 - 11 complete one loop while 12 - 16 and adults complete two (or 5 miles).
Some of our racers, the Duathletes, will skip the swim and begin their race with a run. 7 - 11 year-olds will begin with a 1/4 mile run and all others 1/2 mile. Both Triathletes and Duathletes, after they have finished the bike portion, complete a run of 1/2 mile (7 - 11) and 1 mile (12 - adult). The runs are on the paved paths and the side of the road.
